Valdemars Law Firm successfully represented a client in proceedings concerning the confiscation of seized funds. The court rejected all allegations and ordered the release of EUR 1.1 million, contributing to more than EUR 5.3 million in assets recovered for our clients during the year.

Background

Our client became subject to proceedings seeking the confiscation of funds that had remained frozen for almost three years. The authorities alleged that the assets should be confiscated, requiring the client to demonstrate the lawful origin of the funds.

Our Role

We developed the client's defence strategy, prepared the supporting evidence and represented the client throughout the court proceedings. Our objective was to demonstrate that the allegations were unsupported and that there were no legal grounds for confiscation.

Outcome

The court dismissed all allegations and ordered the release of EUR 1.1 million to our client.
