Background

Our client, acting as the general contractor, was preparing to enter into a construction contract worth nearly EUR 5 million for the development of a renewable energy municipal boiler house.

Given the scale and technical complexity of the project, the contract required detailed negotiations concerning the parties’ obligations, allocation of risks, liability and other key commercial terms.

Our Role

Valdemars Law Firm represented the general contractor throughout the contract negotiations, reviewing the proposed contractual framework and negotiating provisions affecting the client’s legal and commercial exposure.

The negotiations continued for three weeks, during which we worked to achieve balanced contractual terms and an appropriate allocation of risks between the parties.

Outcome

The negotiations were successfully concluded and the parties finalised the nearly EUR 5 million construction contract, providing our client with a balanced contractual framework for implementation of the renewable energy project.
